About Us

Allow me to introduce myself and let you know a little more about me. Most people know me as Rachel Bass. I am from Humboldt, TN, born and raised. I began taking riding lessons when I was 9 or 10 years old and have been hooked ever since.

I attended MTSU in Murfreesboro, TN for 2 years where I majored in horse science and aspired to be a horse trainer. I hated school and it didn't take me long to realize that experience was going to be better for me than getting a degree in that particular major.

I moved back home and worked, still dreaming of having my own barn and training. In June of 2005, I married my high school sweetheart Phillip Johnson. We bought some land outside of Gibson, TN, where I had big plans to build a barn, but it just wasn't the right place.

In November of 2006 we closed on our Medina property, where we are located now. I truly believe this is the place we need to be. Even though we already have a barn on the property, I still have big plans for the future.

We've been through alot and still have many obstacles to overcome, but we're strong and dedicated and I'm 100% sure we'll get through it, although I still sometimes wonder if Phillip is thinking, "What have I gotten myself into?!"

Currently, we have been working hard on the farm and getting invloved in the local horse activities. We are active in the following saddle clubs:

• Henry County Saddle Club  
• Gibson County Saddle Club
• Oakfield Saddle Club

We show all summer long in the club shows and also try to attend and show in as many Tennessee Walking horse shows as we can squeeze in.
